Walter Lilly has a team of Design & Build Managers who have the responsibility for ensuring compliant design development and the seamless transition from tender stage through to construction.

They have acquired a wide range of experience in the management of Contractor Design Portions on many different building types and forms of construction.

In their tendering role they have been responsible for establishing the design team, managing the developing design, undertaking necessary consultations with the employer, end user, Local Authorities and Statutory Undertakings and compiling formal contractors proposals.

Following appointment, they would become key members of the construction team, taking the detailed knowledge of the tender into the critical design resolution stage of the project.

They assume responsibility for the establishing of design requirements and associated control schedules and programmes, validation and co-ordination of design information and the controlled issue of approved working information for construction.

Our Design Managers have been involved primarily with projects procured through the two stage tender route, where the need to properly appreciate the Client’s objectives and to establish effective and early control over design and cost is paramount.

They are able to draw on their experience, to clearly understand the Client’s objectives and requirements and subsequently to work effectively with the Client, the designers and the supply chain to develop optimum design solutions.
